Integrating
Serving of children and adolescents that awaits for a vacancy at the Social Socio-Educational Service, through the offer of workshops - 150 participants.

  

Overcoming - Library
The CPTI Library provides to children and adolescents in the institution and the community around them access to a collection of 7.000 books, magazines, newspapers and computers with Internet connection, helping in tasks and school researches from tuesday to saturday in full time period.

Project Overcoming, of the Interactive and Community Library Sylvia Leeven, is developed inside CPTI with children and adolescents and also in partnership with 2 schools of the state and municipal nets around the institution. The schools send us students from the basic school, that present some difficulties in reading and writing. Project's format is based on the utilization of children's literature and ludic activities, seeking to complement school, avoiding the repetition of activities and waking the curiosity and interest of children. 

 

Youth and the World of Work
About 75 teenagers and youngsters participate of courses that prepare and profissionalizes for the world of work, such as: Project TEC – Work, Education and Citizenship (in partnership with FEAC), mentoring projects and other professionalization courses.

 

EESCCA - Confronting the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents
Medium Complexity Project that supports 30 children and adolescents.


InterGeraCom
InterGeraCom is an extension of the socio-educational familiar support program, realized by CPTI's Promotional Center Tia Ileide Social Service. The Project characteristic is being InterGenerational, as its destinated to any age group, allowing the interaction and exchange of learnings between different ages.

The project has as main objective the improvement in quality of life of residents from Nova Aparecida District, wheter they participate or not on CPTI programs.

For this objective to be reached, works are developed that seeks specially:

- Strengthen social and familiar relations;

- Discover and potentiate talents;

- Prioritize social and citizenship rights.


The project promotes: reflection groups, lectures, confraternizations, thematic and income generation workshops.

Aimed at generating income, there is a periodic course of handicraft, currently with 123 participants.  At it, the integrants may learn traditional embroidery and with jewels, knitting, cooking, sewing, decoupage (wood and glass painting) and fabric painting. Courses are indicated by the own participants and, starting in 2010, participants will receive certificates of conclusion at the end of the courses.

Lucineide Diniz Serrão, 36 years, participates on InterGeraCom for 13 years and today lives from the income provided by the project workshops. At present learns decoupage, cooking, jewel craft and knitting, and comes to CPTI three times a week. “InterGeraCom made me believe in my talent, increased my self esteem and made me see what I’m capable. Today I love what I do and I thank God and CPTI for making me see the talent that I had and that was hidden”, tells. Since she started the courses, in 1997, she changed her job from cleaning assistant to craft works.

Graça de Fátima Fernandes Pereira, 53 years, is in the CPTI’s sewing workshop for five years and intends to make other courses. “After I started doing the sewing course it was very good. Now I sew to my family and friends. The course was a therapy, in the moment I needed the most”. She Said her next course will be embroidery with jewels.
